Born from Island Roots. Built on Faith. Shared with Love.
Our Story – A Family Tradition of Bold, Fresh, Zesty Flavor
Gingeraides began long before the first bottle was ever filled.
It started in my childhood kitchen in Haiti—where every morning began with a hot cup of tea.
Sometimes it was bitter. Sometimes earthy. Sometimes sweet. And sometimes we’d sip it and secretly exchange looks with each other that said, “What in the world is this?”
But back then, you didn’t question grown folks—so you drank it anyway.
The sweet teas were always our favorite, usually paired with a piece of bread spread with butter or peanut butter. And if you’re a real islander, you already know: you must dip the bread. And no—we don’t call it “soggy bread!”
As I grew up, that tradition stayed with me. Ginger tea was the star of our home. It was the cure-all for everything—colds, stomach aches, nausea, warming up on a cool morning, or simply wants a nice cup of tea. There was always fresh ginger in the house, ready to brew.
But I’ll be honest…
I didn’t always understand that there was a deeper meaning behind it.
I didn’t always recognize that God had placed healing in the natural things He created.
That revelation only came later—after I built a relationship with Him, learned His heart, and saw how He cares for our bodies.
But even before I knew it spiritually, I lived it culturally.
My children, however, thought ginger tea was the ultimate “punishment tea.”
They’d be sick in bed, but the moment I offered ginger tea—suddenly they were “miraculously healed” just to avoid the fiery brew. They wholeheartedly believed we were trying to take them out with that spicy island remedy!
Then came 2020—right in the middle of COVID.
One day, my sister and I were prepping ginger to store when an idea hit me:
“What if we turned this into a cold drink?”
She said, “Like a lemonade?”
And I said, “Yes—but we’re calling it Gingeraide.”
We made a pitcher, left it in the fridge, and didn’t say a word.
By the end of the day, the entire pitcher was gone.
Everyone claimed they “only had a little bit”—but it was clear this drink had something special.
When asked if they tasted the ginger, they said, “Yes, but it’s good—nothing like the tea!”
Gingeraides became our daily drink.
Our families kept asking for more.
Friends wanted some.
Neighbors wanted some.
Everywhere it went, the reaction was the same—pure joy.
And during those moments, I began to see it:
This wasn’t just a recipe.
It was an assignment.
One day, I brought a bottle to a pharmacist colleague who wasn’t feeling well.
The next day he said, “I’m not going to lie—I feel so much better.”
That was the confirmation I was expect, and feels nice to hear it.
What started as a comforting family tradition was turning into something bigger—something God was breathing on.
In 2023, we decided to bottle this goodness and share it with the world.
